Ukraine Tests New Robotic Systems with Turrets for Kalashnikov Rifles
In the units of the Ukrainian defense forces, combat trials of new ground robotic systems equipped with turrets for Kalashnikov rifles have begun. The development was carried out based on the technical specifications of the Brave1 defense innovation cluster, funded by grants, and the creation of a ready prototype took less than six months. The use of standard Kalashnikov rifles reduces production costs and simplifies the deployment of systems in the army. The main design features of the complex include: a four-wheeled chassis with airless tires, a protected body resistant to bullets, debris, and punctures, the ability to maneuver in difficult terrain, and a paired turret capable of mounting two rifles simultaneously. The paired system increases fire density during assault or defensive actions against infantry. Some units are already using these systems in real combat, notably, the Special Operations Center "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine has successfully employed the complexes against enemy ambushes with waiting drones. The Ministry of Defense is implementing such systems to reduce the presence of infantry in direct fire contact zones and to save the lives of servicemen.
