XRP Ledger Changes Executable Binary Name to 'xrpld', 38% of Nodes Remain on Older Version

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) core server software has changed the executable binary name from 'rippled' to 'xrpld' with the release of v3.2.0. Ahead of the activation of the amendment on the 29th, 319 out of 843 nodes (37.75%) remain on v3.1.3, highlighting operational risks. In addition to the name change, v3.2.0 includes the cleanup of legacy amendments, modularization of the 'libxrpl' library, and the amendment focused on bug fixes, 'fixCleanup3_2_0'. The targets for fixes include issues related to single asset vaults, lending protocols, permissioned DEXs, permissioned domains, and multi-purpose tokens. The scheduled activation time for fixCleanup3_2_0 is 09:57 UTC on the 29th, with 30 out of 35 trusted validators voting in favor, resulting in a support rate of 85.71%. However, the speed of node upgrades has emerged as a variable, with warnings that a significant number of older nodes may be in a 'blocking amendment' state. This update is more about infrastructure maintenance than new user features, and it remains to be seen how many nodes will remain in consensus after the 29th.
