XAO DAO Pushes for Governance Reform in XRP Ledger

XAO DAO is pushing for governance reforms to expand participation in decision-making within the Ripple (XRP) Ledger ecosystem. The reform plan includes delegated voting, quorum adjustments, and community micro-grants. Fabio Marzella, co-founder of XAO DAO, stated that they plan to implement the related reforms within the next 2 to 3 months. The first change will involve wallet delegation, allowing members to entrust their voting rights to other participants if they lack time to vote directly. In DAO voting, if actual participants are few, a small number of active wallets can influence decisions, and inactive wallets remaining in the quorum can delay the processing of proposals. XAO DAO is reviewing the quorum criteria, with the treatment of inactive wallets being a key issue. The goal is to tie decision-making to the actively participating community and reduce the structure that allows inactive wallets to hinder proposal processing. The community micro-grants will also be included, allowing members to propose small projects that contribute to the XRP Ledger ecosystem and request funding. Ripple describes XAO DAO as a hybrid decentralized autonomous organization dedicated to the XRP Ledger, aiming to foster community voices and an experimental culture. This discussion relates to the sustainability of the XRP Ledger development ecosystem, and Zen3 announced it would cease operations of XRP Ledger-based products due to weakened user demand and increased infrastructure costs. Marzella emphasized that funding alone cannot create a sustainable business.
