Morgan Stanley will support $1.5 trillion in U.S. innovation infrastructure funding over the next decade. This plan aims to expand the strategic technology base in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and data infrastructure. Through the "U.S. Innovation Infrastructure Initiative" announced on the 11th, the firm plans to promote capital raising, financial brokerage, advisory, and related investment activities. Target sectors include AI, advanced computing, quantum technology, semiconductors, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, aerospace, defense, and critical minerals. This initiative does not involve direct investment of $1.5 trillion but rather connects financial institutions with companies and capital. Morgan Stanley intends to combine its investment banking, capital markets, and asset management capabilities to support companies from startup to business expansion. Expanding AI infrastructure will require investments in data centers, power, and semiconductor supply chains, and Morgan Stanley Research projects that global AI infrastructure investment will reach approximately $3 trillion by 2028. The construction costs for data centers are estimated to be around $2.9 trillion from 2025 to 2028. This plan does not include investments targeting specific cryptocurrencies or blockchain companies.
