Improvement in XRPL RPC Node Processing Capacity to 30,000 Messages per Second
XRPL Labs has enhanced the processing capacity of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) RPC nodes to 30,000 messages per second. This reflects the performance of information transmission between external applications and the ledger, rather than the overall transaction throughput of the network. The typical transaction processing speed on the XRP Ledger mainnet is about 1,500 transactions per second, and the two metrics cannot be directly compared as they target different processing areas. RPC is the communication method used by external applications such as wallets, exchanges, and payment services to query ledger data or submit transaction requests. The 30,000 messages per second does not mean that the ledger confirms 30,000 transactions per second; rather, it indicates an increase in the request processing capacity of the RPC nodes. The XRP Ledger mainnet has also demonstrated the ability to sustain processing up to 4,000 transactions per second during recent stress tests. The performance of the RPC infrastructure is crucial as the number of application users increases, as a surge in requests can degrade service response times and stability. This improvement is expected to help reduce bottlenecks that developers and service operators may encounter when connecting to the XRP Ledger. However, it cannot be concluded that the enhancement in RPC node performance has led to an increase in the actual usage or adoption scale of XRP. This figure serves as a reference for the request capacity that the XRP Ledger's access infrastructure can handle, and should not be interpreted as a change in the overall transaction processing limit of the network to 30,000 transactions per second.
