On the 18th, HashPort announced the launch of its revamped NFT marketplace "PLT Place," now offered as "HashPort Market|αU," which supports payments in the Japanese yen stablecoin "JPYC."
The renewal includes credit card payments, conditional gasless purchases and listings, and secondary distribution functions between users. The company claims that this is the "first instance in Japan" of a domestic NFT marketplace supporting stablecoin payments, based on their own research (web survey conducted in August 2026).
JPYC is classified as an electronic payment method under the Payment Services Act and is a stablecoin of the electronic payment method type, which differs from the legal category of cryptocurrencies (virtual assets). It is issued and redeemed at a rate of 1 JPYC = 1 yen, characterized as a payment method that can be handled on-chain without price fluctuations.
Starting from 5 PM on the 21st, HashPort began selling trading card NFTs in partnership with the RWA platform "TCG STORE" operated by CryptoGames. The sales format is a random type called "Ori-Pa," where the contents are unknown until purchase. This product design combines the experience of unboxing with collectibility.
Purchased trading card NFTs can be bought and sold among users using the secondary distribution function within the marketplace, and requests for buyback in JPYC can also be made. Both options incur a specified fee. The company also plans to support exchanges with physical cards in the near future.
