Grape Processing in Ukraine Increased by 25% in 2025
In 2025, the volume of grape processing in Ukraine increased by 25.4% compared to the previous year, reaching 40,000 tons. This indicates a recovery in the winemaking industry after an average annual decline in processing volumes of 24% from 2019 to 2025. The area under vineyards decreased by 20.9% and 23.9% in 2022 and 2023, respectively, with a partial recovery of 6.6% in 2024. However, in 2025, the area under technical grapes decreased by 1%, while the area under table grapes fell by 44%. The average grape yield is 40.4 quintals per hectare. Key regions include: Odesa region - 9,000 hectares (yield 29.5 quintals per hectare), Mykolaiv region - 3,100 hectares (yield 49.9 quintals per hectare), and Zakarpattia region - 700 hectares (yield 14.1 quintals per hectare). In 2025, 68.3% of the wine materials are table grapes, while about 25% are sparkling. Sales of early new harvest grapes have begun in Ukrainian wholesale markets, with prices for the first batches ranging from 150 to 250 UAH per kilogram.
