Bitcoin Suisse Cuts 60 Jobs in Switzerland and Shifts Some Operations Overseas
Bitcoin Suisse plans to cut up to 60 jobs in Switzerland, accounting for about half of its local workforce, and will transfer some software development and back-office operations overseas. The company will close its IT development center in Copenhagen while retaining its business center in Bratislava and plans to establish a new center in Vietnam. CEO and co-founder Andrej Majcen stated that the operational costs for related services are significantly lower in Bratislava and Vietnam, and this adjustment is part of the company's international growth strategy, unrelated to the cryptocurrency market environment. Bitcoin Suisse also plans to expand from cryptocurrency trading, custody, staking, and lending services to wealth and asset management services aimed at high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients, with its Liechtenstein subsidiary having obtained EU MiCA framework authorization in June.
