XRPL to introduce permission delegation feature for cold wallets
Prefer us on GoogleA permission delegation feature will soon be added to the XRP Ledger (XRPL), allowing users to delegate on-chain tasks to another account while keeping their primary account keys secure in a cold wallet. This feature aims to address treasury management needs by granting a secondary account the authority to send transactions on behalf of a user's primary account, providing an alternative to multi-signature setups for security structures like role-based access control. The feature was part of XRPL v2.6.1 but was disabled in September 2025 due to a bug that could drain a user's XRP balance by charging transaction fees to other accounts, and it was never deployed on the mainnet.
