The Ukrainian government has decided to establish an information and communication system called 'Donor Platform' to manage funding projects in the field of mine action. The project will be implemented over two years, with pilot operation starting after March 31, 2027. The system will be owned by the Ministry of Economy and Environmental Protection, and the administrator will be the Humanitarian Demining Center. Funding for the development will be provided by international organizations and donor institutions without involving state budget funds. The platform will include a website, a data processing and visualization module, as well as personal user accounts. Mandatory functions for participants include: government bodies and local administrations will provide information on requests for assistance, mine action operators will keep track of projects and report on their implementation, and donors will confirm data on the support provided. The system will automatically verify information and block duplicate requests. The total financial commitments of partners in Ukraine's mine action sector from 2022 to 2030 exceed $1.6 billion, with the main funding areas being land clearance and disposal of explosive items (56.9%) and procurement of special equipment and machinery (20.6%).
