The UK court has shut down the cryptocurrency company Key Coin Assets, which was under investigation after nine investors reported losses exceeding £300,000 to Action Fraud. The investigation revealed that the company had no apparent real trading activities and exhibited characteristics of a Ponzi scheme. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) had already listed it as an unauthorized firm back in September 2024. Investor funds were transferred into personal accounts of the directors, the company address changed frequently, and assets were falsely reported to be as high as £42 million.
