According to Caixin, the main culprit of a 60,000 BTC money laundering case, Qian Zhimin, bought Bitcoin at an average price of 2815 yuan/coin (unknown calculation method). On the day he was sentenced in the UK, the price of Bitcoin had risen more than 266 times to 750,000 yuan/coin. Regarding the disposal of the assets frozen by the UK judicial authorities, the UK side has not yet substantially progressed to the stage of returning or sharing with the Chinese authorities.
The Tianjin Public Security Bureau Hedong Branch, which is handling the Blue Sky Gridwise case, issued a notice on October 30th stating that the current public security organs are still cooperating with UK law enforcement agencies to continue cross-border pursuit and asset recovery efforts, doing their best to recover the losses of the participants. On November 17, 2025, the UK High Court will hold another hearing on the disposal of the 60,000 Bitcoins.
