Status Network announced that it will merge its gas-free and privacy L2 technology into the Linea ecosystem, becoming the native distribution layer for the latter, and will no longer launch an independent mainnet. This merger aims to unify the technical routes and liquidity of both parties, avoid ecological fragmentation, and allow Status to fully concentrate its resources on its core application, Status App.
The official statement indicated that the previous pre-deposit treasury has now been closed, and the related assets will be fully migrated to the Linea mainnet. When the Linea mainnet opens for withdrawals, pre-deposit users will not only be able to withdraw their principal and accrued earnings but will also proportionally receive a total of 20 million SNT and 20 million LINEA as liquidity rewards. A detailed migration timeline and testnet developer migration guide will be officially announced next week.
