Solana Reduces Block Time to 350 Milliseconds, Matt Hougan Says Blockchain Performance Improved

Since its mainnet launch, Solana has officially shortened its slot time for the first time, with the network now operating at approximately 350 milliseconds, and plans to further reduce it to 300 milliseconds. Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise, stated that investors have underestimated the advancements in public chain technology in recent years, as current blockchain performance has far surpassed that of the previous bull market phase. He pointed out that one of the significant reasons for the setbacks during the 2019-2021 bull market was that on-chain technology could not meet demand, a problem that "no longer exists."
