Reckitt Sells Hygiene Business in Russia to Arnest

British company Reckitt has agreed to sell its hygiene business in Russia to local company Arnest. A post-tax loss of around £175 million is expected due to restrictions on foreign businesses exiting the Russian market. The agreement covers Reckitt's Russian hygiene goods division, which accounted for about 1% of Reckitt's net revenue for the year ending 2025. The sale is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026, pending necessary approvals. Arnest Management, the buyer, has already been collaborating with Reckitt since 2023. The assets transferring to Arnest include a manufacturing facility near Moscow, local intellectual property rights, and about 400 employees. Arnest will not acquire rights to Reckitt's global brands such as Dettol, Durex, and Vanish. Reckitt expects to recognize a loss of £175 million in its 2026 financial statements, with approximately £125 million reflected in the results for the first half of the year. The sale is not expected to significantly impact Reckitt's adjusted operating profit or earnings per share in 2026.
