In the first half of 2026, the volume of private transfers to Ukraine amounted to $3.684 billion, which is 6.9% less compared to the same period in 2025. Remittances from Ukrainians working abroad decreased by 21.3%, while private transfers, including assistance to families, increased by 13.3%. Over six months, Ukraine received $273 million less than last year; however, the rate of decline slowed compared to 19.5% the previous year. The share of private transfers now accounts for more than half of all remittances. The volume of informal inflows, such as cash transfers, decreased by 17.6%, leading to an increase in the share of official channels to 66.2%. Hetmancev noted that the reasons for these changes may include a reduction in seasonal labor migration and family reunification abroad, which affects the long-term prospects of the Ukrainian labor market.
