Mubadala Capital Launches Tokenized Private Market Fund and Invests in Coinbase

Mubadala Capital has launched a tokenized version of its private market fund. Coinbase has included this fund in its financial assets. Mubadala Capital and KAIO will launch the fund for qualified investors on July 23, leveraging KAIO's infrastructure, with Mubadala Capital managing approximately $430 billion in assets. This fund will be available on Coinbase's Base network, as well as on Solana and Sui, and has already attracted around $75 million in on-chain assets. Coinbase's investment is noted as an early example of a publicly listed cryptocurrency company investing in tokenized private market products. Mubadala Capital has established itself as a major player in blockchain-based fund management. Tokenization is rapidly growing as traditional financial firms modernize their fund infrastructure, with Citi projecting that the tokenized securities market will grow to approximately $5.5 trillion by 2030. KAIO is responsible for the issuance and management of Mubadala Capital's tokenized fund, which currently amounts to $144 million on the KAIO platform. This launch is also related to the United Arab Emirates' plans to position itself as a tokenized financial hub.
