On May 7th, COINOTAG News reported that Strategy Board Chairman Michael Saylor has reiterated his call for Microsoft to revise its capital allocation framework. Saylor advocates for a pivot from traditional investments, such as bonds and stock buybacks , towards the integration of Bitcoin into their portfolio. He asserts that this strategic shift could enhance shareholder value while concurrently mitigating corporate risk. Evaluating data from TradingView , Bitcoin has demonstrated an impressive average annual return of approximately 53% over the last five years, contrasting sharply with Microsoft’s more modest 6% . During this period, Bitcoin’s value has surged by over 950% , while Microsoft’s growth has been limited to around 148% . Saylor posits that Bitcoin’s unique qualities make it a liquid alternative asset, suggesting it could serve as a contemporary substitute for bonds in modern financial strategies.
