McDonald's to Open One Sustainable Design Restaurant Annually in Ukraine
McDonald's plans to open approximately one sustainable design restaurant in Ukraine each year, with costs estimated to be about 35% higher than regular ones. There are already two such restaurants operating in Ukraine — in Lviv and Kyiv. A complete transition of the entire chain to this format is not planned due to the high construction costs. Restaurants with sustainable designs will be created through the company's own investments. Environmental solutions will also be implemented in new establishments opened by partners. The company is working on energy efficiency, thermal insulation, and recovery systems for more efficient use of energy resources. McDonald's plans to invest in the sustainable design format approximately once a year; however, a complete transition of the entire chain to such a format is not anticipated in the short to medium term. Recently, the 130th McDonald's restaurant opened in Uman, located at 6 Stepan Bandera Street.
