Kakao Pay Completes Proof of Concept for Digital Asset Wallet Technology
Kakao Pay announced on the 9th that it has completed the proof of concept for its digital asset wallet construction technology. Kakao Group plans to distribute the verified technology in the domestic digital asset market and utilize its experience in regulatory and fintech environments to build a stablecoin distribution infrastructure. Kakao Pay is developing an integrated wallet system for the distribution of digital assets, including the Korean won stablecoin, based on its 43 million user base. Kakao Group has verified the remittance and payment technology for digital assets in a high-traffic environment and has built a user interface. Kakao Bank is also verifying the stability and usability of wallet integration by applying bank-level security and regulatory requirements. Kakao Group aims to support the establishment of a distribution infrastructure for the domestic digital asset ecosystem through its verified wallet technology. Additionally, it plans to develop a stablecoin distribution system tailored to the specific circumstances of each company and provide verified technology along with customized consulting services. Kakao Group is continuing discussions for collaboration with major companies and financial institutions.
