Hegotá will be the next update for Ethereum following Glamsterdam. Toni Wahrstätter, a developer at the Ethereum Foundation, announced that 66 proposals are currently under review for this update, which is expected to be finalized by 2027. Some proposals, such as EIP-8141 with its Fork-choice enforced Inclusion Lists (FOCIL) feature, appear promising. Other improvements include proposals for the Ethereum Virtual Machine and discussions on the initial EIPs related to zkEVM and post-quantum resistance. The gas limit may also be increased, and fee pricing improved. Discussions are ongoing, and community feedback is being considered. Currently, the price of ETH is $1,900, up 1.26% in the last 24 hours.
