European Central Bank Governing Council member Nagel stated that the slowdown of core inflation in the Eurozone to 2.4% in August is a positive signal, with inflation in the services sector also easing. He noted that there are currently no signs of second-round effects in the core inflation rate. Nagel mentioned that the market has a relatively predictable outlook for the European Central Bank's interest rate decision next week, having fully absorbed the expectation of a 25 basis point rate hike. Data released on the same day showed that the overall inflation rate in the Eurozone rose to 3.3% in August, further supporting the case for a rate hike by the ECB on September 10.
