Wonder Man, a recent Marvel series, was canceled by Disney+ after just one season. Despite Disney announcing the renewal for a second season in March, a writers' room was never opened, and the writers were released for other projects. The series starred Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley and received a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Abdul-Mateen received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, being the only live-action actor nominated for projects from Marvel and DC. The cancellation of Wonder Man aligns with Marvel's trend, as most of its series on Disney+ have had only one season, such as WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight.
