CoinShares CEO warns investors about utility-less cryptocurrencies
CoinShares CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti cautioned investors regarding cryptocurrencies lacking real use cases, noting that such tokens are rising amid a broader crypto market rebound. Mognetti highlighted that investor sentiment had reached one of its lowest points in recent years until a month ago. Over 100 crypto projects have shut down or vanished from the market this year, attributed not only to macroeconomic conditions but also to depleted funding, security issues, and a failure to generate sufficient utility, revenue, or economic value. Despite the recent upward trend in the crypto market, Mognetti emphasized that this does not imply improved fundamentals for every asset. Many assets are increasing merely due to a return of risk appetite. He advised investors to focus on which assets can maintain value when liquidity, political conditions, and investor sentiment no longer support price increases.
