A Bank of America survey of global fund managers in August revealed that 27% of respondents have a higher allocation to U.S. stocks than the weight of U.S. stocks in the global benchmark index, indicating that investors expect better performance from U.S. equities. This percentage is the highest level since December 2024, up 3 percentage points from 24% in July. So far this year, U.S. stock indices have generally outperformed other markets, with the S&P 500 index rising by 13%, while the European Stoxx 600 index increased by 10%. However, U.S. stocks still lag behind the Japanese and South Korean markets.
