Anthropic Signs $35 Billion Deal with Lambda and Nvidia
American artificial intelligence developer Anthropic has signed a contract worth $35 billion for cloud computing resources with Lambda, a provider backed by Nvidia. The agreement aims to enhance the computing infrastructure for training AI models. The computing resources will be housed in a new data center in Nueces County, which is being constructed by Hut 8, with Nvidia as the primary tenant. Anthropic has become one of the largest buyers of data centers, having secured a series of multi-billion dollar deals: a $35 billion contract with Lambda, a $45 billion agreement with Nscale, and contracts worth $50 billion with Fluidstack and $45 billion with SpaceX. Lambda is also in talks to raise up to $3 billion in investments ahead of a potential IPO, which could increase the company's valuation to $12 billion or more. Last year, Lambda partnered with Microsoft to deploy Nvidia chips.
